What e-commerce CRM means

The "CRM" most e-commerce brands actually need is not a sales pipeline tool — it's a customer messaging and lifecycle platform that ingests order, cart, and product data from Shopify (or BigCommerce / WooCommerce / Amazon) and lets the brand turn that data into segmented campaigns, abandoned-cart automations, support tickets, and post-purchase follow-up.

That makes the buyer's checklist different from B2B CRM. Pipeline depth doesn't matter; deep Shopify sync, ticket SLA management, and review/return workflows do.
