AI
Salesforce ships Agentforce and Einstein Copilot — comprehensive AI agents for sales, service, and ops. Most of the deepest features (autonomous agents, AI-driven prospecting, Data Cloud-grounded grounding) sit on top of Data Cloud SKUs and require a configuration project to activate. Once turned on, the depth is unmatched.
Dynamics 365 ships Microsoft 365 Copilot integration as a native primitive — Copilot in Outlook reads CRM context, Copilot in Teams summarizes account meetings, Copilot in Dynamics drafts proposals. The integration is genuinely seamless if you're already on Microsoft 365 and uneven if you're not. Net: Salesforce has more depth, Dynamics has more reach across the daily Microsoft surface.
Ecosystem
Salesforce AppExchange has 7,000+ apps and is unrivaled for industry verticals — Veeva for life sciences, nCino for banking, Clio for legal, Vlocity for industries (now Salesforce Industries). If your industry runs on AppExchange, the conversation is over.
Dynamics 365's ecosystem is smaller but tighter — AppSource has solid coverage in industries Microsoft cares about (manufacturing, retail, public sector, healthcare with Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare). The killer feature is the Power Platform: Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Pages compose with Dynamics natively, which is closer to a true low-code platform than Salesforce's lightning components.
